My pocketbook is hurting a bit today after spending $85 to join the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, but it feels great to make plans to meet other authors, get some critiques, and hopefully be on the road to being published. And, what do you know, there's an Iowa chapter, and they're having a workshop in April right near my in-laws. Score!
